Sheffield Wednesday this week have launched a claim against the English Football League after they charged the club for misconduct over the sale of Hillsborough stadium.
The Owls face sanctions as a result with there being a possibility of a hefty 21-point deduction as well as permanent bans from the sport.
But for the time being, on the pitch, it’s business as usual, and that’s the same for their January plans.

Although no position has been publicly identified, it appears as if Garry Monk could be on the lookout for a striker considering the array of names linked to the club over the past seven days or so.
If there’s one area that the 40-year-old has options, it’s in attack. Aside from top goalscorer Steven Fletcher, there is Jordan Rhodes, who bagged a hattrick last weekend, Atdhe Nuhiu, Fernando Forestieri and Sam Winnall.
Surely one of these names makes way for any potential addition.
Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor, Bristol Rovers’ Jonson Clarke-Harris and even Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster have been noted as seeing Hillsborough as a potential destination next month.
Given Rhodes’ recent re-emergence and the differing qualities both Nuhiu and Forestieri bring to the side, it wouldn’t be unfair to suggest that it is indeed Winnall who is most at risk of departing to pave the way for any new forward.
The 28-year-old was signed by Carlos Carvalhal in January 2017 and has never really been able to get his Owls career going.
In those three years, he’s scored just five times in 34 appearances and was even forced to go out on loan to Derby County within six months of moving to Hillsborough.
This season under Monk, he’s featured five times, only one of which a start. His five-minute cameo last weekend was the first time he has been seen in 11 matches, per Transfermarkt.

Any arrival in the striking department is sure to put his place at risk. Therefore, his time at Wednesday appears to be looking bleaker by the day.
We’ll have wait and see how the next couple of weeks pan out, but don’t be surprised to see Winnall exit, especially with his contract due to expire come the summer.
And in other Owls news, this rival coach has labelled Garry Monk’s side as ‘complacent’ ahead of this weekend’s tie…
