However, it seems unlikely he will ever get first team opportunities at Anfield due to the sheer quality the Reds already have in those forward positions.
Kent and Glenn Middleton have both been superb so far this season, and it is clear that the competition for places is helping the youngster strive for success.
With Daniel Candeias now into his thirties, signing Kent should be a no brainer for the Gers as Gerrard looks to reinforce his attacking options.
