Rangers have shown some huge potential already under Steven Gerrard, and the Liverpool legend should continue his rebuilding project by moving for Sunderland’s Josh Maja.
What’s the word?
Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham are all reportedly interested in Sunderland’s Maja, but Gerrard can get one over on the Premier League trio by offering the youngster regular playing time.
The 19-year-old has been simply electric for the Black Cats this season, scoring nine times in their opening 12 League One games.
Maja has excellent pace, dribbling and close control, but most of all he just knows how to stick the ball in the net, and at just 19 the prospect of playing European football under Gerrard should be enough to lure him to Ibrox.

Would he be a good signing?
Rangers were extremely active in the transfer window this summer, but they still only really have two senior strikers, one of which will turn 32 at the start of next season while the other is nailed on for a few red cards every season.
Umar Sadiq has barely seen the pitch since his loan move from Roma, meaning any injury or suspension to one of Kyle Lafferty or Alfredo Morelos could be fatal for the Gers.
Maja meanwhile has been loving life in League One, and five of his nine goals have come in matches that were either draws or wins decided by just one goal, so he’s not just stat-padding in big wins.
The 19-year-old is extremely clinical in and around the box, and his movement is fantastic for such a young player.
These intelligent runs down the channel would be perfect in Gerrard’s 4-3-3 at Ibrox, and he is also strong enough to hold the ball up if need be, which would allow the likes of Daniel Candeias and Ryan Kent to excel around him.
Gerrard and the Gers brought in four new centre backs this summer, and the focus next year will surely be at the other end of the pitch. Maja could compete immediately with Morelos and Lafferty, and he might just be a superstar in the making.
So, Rangers fans, would you back a move for Maja? Do you think he would be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
